The Courier Tribune
November 16, 1997

Habitat for Humanity dedicated - and offered tours of - its newest house at 415 Cross St. in Asheboro Saturday. Volunteer Tim Garris raises his hands with other volunteers who worked on the home of the Herbie and Cindy Bowman family. A Christian organization, Habitat For Humanity builds and rehabilitates "simple and decent" homes for families that have unsuitable dwellings. Founded in 1976 by Linda and Millard Fuller, Habitat has provided over 50,000 homes internationally. This is their second in Asheboro. For more information, volunteer Edith Daley may be reached after 6 p.m. at 626-2454.
