Garris honored by builders, The Courier Tribune, 15 January 1998
Each year the Home Builders Association of Asheboro/Randolph County Inc. recognizes a builder member for their contributions to the home builders association, the building industry and community. The person chosen by his peers to be honored as the builder member in 1997 is Tim Garris, partner in Garris-Brantley Design Construction. Garris has shown leadership abilities with his involvement in the HBA since 1989. He is a past president, member of the Board of Directors for past six years and in 1997 he chaired the membership committee, spike committee, the Randolph County Zoning Study Committee and served on several other committees. He is active with Habitat for Humanity of Randolph, serving on the board of directors, chairperson for the building committee. Garris graduated from Fayetteville Technical Institute in 1976 with an Associate Degree in Architectural Design Drafting. He is married to Bert Garris and has three children. In his spare time, Garris enjoys his family, photography, computers and flying. He has a private pilot license with an instrument rating. They are members of First E&R Church.
